Terms and Conditions
By participating on Wands and Worlds, you agree to adhere to the following posting guidelines. Failure to abide by these terms will result in a warning. Repeated offenders will be dismissed from the community, at the sole discretion of the administrators.
- Since this is a site of interest to a juvenile audience, all posts must be appropriate for children. No sexual content, excessive violence, profanity, swear words, or other bad language is allowed. Using alternate spellings or using stars or other symbols to partially obscure swear words is also disallowed under this rule. Swear words may be replaced with symbols if the entire word is replaced. What words are swear words are determined at the sole discretion of the administrators. A list of disallowed words will be available upon request.
- The theme of the site is fantasy and science fiction for children and teens. Posts should be of interest to fans of those genres, or to librarians, teachers, authors, publishers, booksellers, or others with similar interest.
- Commercial posting is not allowed. Authors and publishers may use the site to promote their work, as long as they are not overly commercial in their postings. Members may not use the site to sell goods and services directly.
- All posts become the property of Wands and Worlds. Anyone can request that their own posts be removed at any time by emailing the administrator.
- Hate messages directed at members of a particular race, sex, religion, ethnic group, or sexual orientation will NOT be tolerated and will result in immediate expulsion from the group without warning.
- Posting someone else's words or pictures without their permission is a violation of copyright laws. Please do not post things that you found on the internet unless the site where you found it explicitly says that you may post it freely. Instead, consider posting a link to the page where you found it. This includes, but is not limited to, pictures you found on Google.
- Please do not post spoilers without marking them as spoilers in the subject heading. Spoilers are information which reveals key plot points about a book published in the last year. Any book published over a year ago can be discussed without a spoiler warning. Giving away spoilers without warning may result in temporary expulsion from the community.
- Never post yours or anybody else's personal information without their explicit permission. This includes pictures, real names, phone numbers, email, or other personal information from you or another member. Posts of this nature will be removed from the site, and repeated offenses may result in temporary or permanent expulsion.
- Never post anything on Wands and Worlds that threatens, defames, harasses, or insults another user or a real life person. Threats of any type will not be tolerated, even as a joke. Posts of this nature may result in temporary or permanent expulsion from the site.
- Do not post chatrooms of any kind on Wands and Worlds.
- Do not attempt to get around the chatroom filters. Attempting to hack, break, or otherwise subvert any filters, security, or other protection on Wands and Worlds is a violation of the rules. This will not be tolerated, and repeat offenders may be temporarily or permanently banned from the site.
- All communications on Wands and Worlds may be monitored for the protection of its members. This includes chat rooms, private chat, and private messages. By using the site, you agree to allow Wands and Worlds administrators to monitor your communications on site.
- Flooding the chat window with unnecessary text is considered spamming and is against the rules. This is a disruptive offense and spammers may be banned from Wands and Worlds.
- Never impersonate another member, especially an administrator, even as a joke.
- If you find a bug in Wands and Worlds, never exploit it. If you believe you've found a bug, report it to an administrator and don't touch it again.
- Account sharing is prohibited. Each user account must be used by only one person.
- Encouraging others to break the rules is as bad as breaking them yourself, and may result in temporary or permanent expulsion from the site.
- Logging into the chat room multiple times at the same time under different names (sometimes called "doubling") is not allowed, and may result in temporary or permanent expulsion from the site.
Consequences
The W&W Administration reserves the right to expel any member from the site, or remove any post, for breaking the above terms and services. All offenses will be punished as following:
- First Offense: Warning.
- Second Offense: Warning and expulsion for two days.
- Third Offense: Warning and expulsion for one week.
- Fourth Offense: Permanent expulsion from Wands and Worlds without refund.
By being a member of Wands and Worlds you agree to abide by the rules above.

I wanted to clarify rule 13,
I wanted to clarify rule 13, since it seems there is some confusion about it. We certainly aren't banning randomness. Randomness can be fun and we have nothing against it. "Flooding the chat room" are the key words here. The rule is prohibiting excessively long or repetitive messages, the kind that fill up the chat room or make it scroll so fast people can't follow it.

I agree too, but here's the
I agree too, but here's the problem with the last one:
Sometimes, my internet gets "turned off" and then I need to get back online again... but when I get in the chatbox, it says my name is already signed in, so I need to go and change my name so I can actually get into the chatroom... This happens to me almost every time I'm in the chatroom...
- The one and only; Riverrocketsparklestripe (is that really one whole name!?!?!?!?!?!?!?)
I think I lost my status of ALWAYS being in the chatroom! just send me a pm -_-

Riverstripe, if that happens
Riverstripe, if that happens and you genuinely can't get back in without changing your name, we certainly won't ban you for that. The difference is that people who "double" keep two windows open and use the chat room in both under two different names. As long as you are only physically in the chat room in one place and one window, you're fine.
Believe me, people, we aren't trying ban anyone. We just want to clarify what, in our minds, the rules already were, so that we can enforce them when necessary. The vast majority of members will not have any problem whatsoever.
