I just wanted to let everyone know that I set up a private chat room for the RP that Icestar and the others in that group are involved in. The room is password protected, and I asked them not to give out the password to anyone who is not involved in the RP. I've also said that they don't have to admit new members if they don't want to.

I'm generally a person who doesn't like to see people excluded, probably because as a young person I was excluded from so many groups. But I don't see this as excluding anyone. It's just a small group who have been RPing together for months and who have developed a synergy together. Bringing outsiders in would change the RP, and I can understand why they don't want to do that. So if anyone asks to join and they say no, please don't blame them or think that it means they don't like you. It just means that they don't want a lot of random people who don't understand the way they RP coming in and changing things.

I also want to say something about cross-room PCing. At one point, I didn't have it enabled because I was afraid it would cause problems, but then I turned it on. However, I ask that you be considerate with it and if you PC someone in another room, ask them if they have time to PC or if they are busy. It's just common courtesy. I know from my experience that it's frustrating when I'm trying to chat and a bunch of people start PCing me. I can't seem to handle more than a couple at a time. If the cross-room PC starts becoming a problem, I'll turn it back off.

When dealing with chat room issues, please keep in mind that the world is made up of two types of people: introverts and extroverts. That doesn't necessarily mean what you think it means. Introverts aren't necessarily shy people; some of them have very good people skills. Introverts are people who find it tiring interacting with other people, and extroverts are energized by interacting with other people. So extroverts need to be sensitive to the fact that introverts need time alone or pursuing their interests to recharge. Introverts need to understand that extroverts need to be around people to recharge. Does that make sense? And I think for most introverts, they would find something like RPing to be different from chatting, even though it involves other people, because RPing is a specific intellectual pursuit that just happens to involve other people, and introverts are often stimulated by intellectual activities.

If we try to be sensitive to each others' needs and feelings, then we'll do ok. I think that Wands and Worlds is a great community and we can adapt and learn and grow and support each other together.

P.S. To be fair, I will consider requests for other groups who need their own chat room. I don't guarantee that I'll accept your request, and I'm not going to create a whole bunch of chat rooms. However, I'm much more likely to agree to your request if it's for a specific serious purpose, such as an ongoing RP or mafia, or a group which is writing something together, than just for a chat group.

I don't really have a solid opinion on this topic, so I'm just going to say the following:

Prehaps you should ask people not to badger the members of this RP for the password, since this can become quite annoying after a while.

What if you created an entire chatroom for simply Mafia discussions, rather than seperate chatrooms for each different Mafia? I actually got the idea from trying to sort all my Mafia PMs...I just created a general Mafia folder because it was getting to be too much of a hassle.>_<

A whole room for Icestar's RP...blimey! lol. Okay, I'll try to be considerate. Sometimes, I have something important to say to someone and I don't want to be ignored, but I can still be respectful. Other times, when it's not important, I'll try to restrain from bothering. *smiles blithely at Magiczipper*

I just want to make clear that Icestar did not ask for this, nor did any of the other RPers. It was completely my idea, and I thought it was the best way to solve a variety of problems, some of which not everyone may know about. One benefit of this is that the regular RP room should be free more often now for others who want to do their own RP. And I DID say that I would consider setting up rooms for other groups, too.

I would consider creating a room for mafia discussions, but I'm thinking that temporary rooms might be better. The reason for that is that if you do it in a regular room, someone might be able to later read what you discussed in the room history. Whereas if you do it in a temporary room and then everyone leaves, the room history goes away so no one (but me) can know what you talked about.

Oh, and as for badgering about the password, I asked the RPers NOT to give out the password to anyone not in the group, so it's not up to them. They're only doing what I asked them, so it wouldn't be fair to badger them. If I see a lot of badgering going on in the chat logs, I'll have to do something about it.

And let me make it clear that I would do the same thing for any of you, if I thought it was the best thing. I try to do what I think is going to be best for the greatest number of people, but that sometimes means making hard decisions that make some people unhappy.

omg......i hate this! there are other rps! why are THEY so special.....gosh...im under a lot stress fight now. you see a lot of people here are ignoring me and being rude...i cant join a rp just becasue theyve been doing it for a while and my best friends in real life is most likely going to die in 2 months...i hate my FREAKING LIFE
