Random House has announced that book 3 of Christopher Paolini's Inheritance cycle will be called Brisingr! It will be released on September 20, 2008. The cover features a picture of the gold dragon Glaedr.

“BRISINGR is one of the first words I thought of for this title, and it’s always felt right to me,” said
Christopher Paolini. “As the first ancient-language word that Eragon learns, it has held particular
significance for his legacy as a Dragon Rider. In this new book, it will be revealed to be even more

nice name! I have Eragon and Eldest but haven't ever gotten even halfway through Eragon. I heard the movie was horrible. one day i'll start them and finish them. the boks look good. i've got hardcover copies and they are dauntingingly (is that a word?!) large.

I've thought about his true name being brisingr...but you do have a point, Thrushwing. Maybe it only works if you know it's their name and you're not just saying it. Before it was released that there would be a 4th book, I thought that would be the spell he would use to kill Galbatorix, like with Durza, and it still could be, but who knows?(other than Christoper Paolini, that is)
