Wands and Worlds clan has had a big influx of new members because of the Erin Hunter chat. I don't have the exact numbers, but it's possible that the number of members increased by 50% or more. Change is always difficult, and it's inevitable that there will be some conflicts when trying to integrate a large number of new members into an existing community. (Has anyone read The People of Sparks - the sequel to The City of Ember?).

I want to ask all of you to be considerate and civil when dealing with each other. "Old" members, please make the new members feel welcome and help them find their way around, especially those who have stuck around after the chat to become true members of the community. New members, remember that you are joining an established community, and try to be sensitive to the fact that there is a culture in place here, with its own traditions and ways of doing things. (Wow, are we that old already that we have traditions?)

You don't have to like everyone here, but I expect you to be polite even with those whom you don't like. If there is someone that you just can't get along with, it's probably best if you try to interact with them as little as possible - don't feel that you have to post a retort to their every comment, even if you disagree.

I believe that if all we try to be polite and considerate and understanding, our community will be stronger.

I guess i'd be consitered new. But I already know how to everything! Acctually since i'm in a time zone few are in a new person was on last week, just me and her (late for most people) and I welcomed her. I'd also like to thank many who welcomed me. Oh, and I have infact read those books. Actually I did a whole three month long report on them, complete with decorated poster board. I liked them, they were very good books. I liked the prequeal tooo, The Prophet of Yonwood(sp?)
