Biographies can be interesting, but it depends on the author and how their written. A lot of biographies seem to be written in a very dry, boring way. But a good author makes the subject really interesting! One of the most interesting biographies I read was a biography of Roald Dahl, author of Charlie and the Chocolate Factory and Matilda and others. He was a fascinating person - a study in contradictions - he did some really good things, but he was also not very nice in some ways.

One thing to be aware of when reading biographies or histories is that authors often come with their own bias, and even when they try to be objective, it's hard for them to completely put aside their own bias. So a biography of a person by one author might make that person seem really great, but another author might make the same person look bad. You have to try to understand where the author is coming from and take that into account, and make up your own mind about the subject.
