I've noticed that some of you have started posting pictures recently, and I just wanted to reiterate our position on posting pictures:

• It's ok to post your picture, but I ask that you check with your parents first. If you are under 13, you MUST ask your parents before posting your picture. If you are over 13, I would prefer that you check with your parents but don't require it. Either way, it's a good idea to select "Private - members only" in the "Visibility" drop down box, so that only members will be able to see your picture. It's a safety issue - do you really want a bunch of random strangers looking at your picture?
• Please don't post pictures of other people without their permission. If they are under 13, you must also have permission from their parents.
• Regardless of whether you have permission, I ask that you please don't clutter up Wands and Worlds too much posting a bunch of pictures of your friends. There's no rule against it and I'm not going to make one, but I ask you to please consider this as a request. I don't want Wands and Worlds to turn into MySpace. This is a book web site, and the main theme is related to books. Some unrelated stuff is ok, because it helps to build the strong feeling of community that we have here, but I just don't want this to turn into a general random stuff/dating/friends/myspace type of site.
