PICTURE OF THE WEEK:

"Grassy Israel Cat", by Rabbitfoot. I really liked this picture I found. The cat has an almost serene look, yet still very attentive. It reminds me of those Egyptian gods, especially with the markings on its pelt. The grass that surrounds it makes it blend into the landscape, though the bright green bush behind the cat also makes it stand out. Overall, I think this was a well-taken picture.

MOVIE REVIEW:

Movie: The Happening
Rated: R, for violent and disturbing images
Starring: Mark Wahlberg (<3) and Zooey Deschanel
Review: As you can see from my icon, I'm in love with this movie. And since you've probably all seen reviews saying how horrible this movie is, I thought I'd give you a review with a positive spin to it. =) This movie was suspenseful, and, yes, quite disturbing, but was worth watching for the humourous yet frightening message alone - protect our planet, stop pollutung, and try to prevent global warming...or else. Of course, while this is true - and not funny - the movie puts the humour in it with why we should be scared - the trees are feeling threatened by us and start releasing a neurotoxin that turns off and reverses are self-preservation mechanism...turning us into suicidal maniacs. My first thought was...'OMG what?!' and I burst out laughing in the theatre. But after a bit of online research I found out that the director, M. Night Shyamalan (pronounced 'Shah-mah-lahn'), was TRYING to make it feel like a B-movie - one of those cheesy flicks you're supposed to make fun of. He's putting an important message into something he's expecting you to laugh at, which is something most reviewers overlook. Yes, the acting wasn't the best (except Mark [who I absolutely refuse to call Marky XP], whose performance added to the B-movie feel while also being slightly believable). What I'm trying to say is this - if you're allowed to see R-rated movies (in fact, this is Shyamalan's first R-movie), I'd give this one a view - ignore the critics, ignore the critics! ;)

UPCOMING MOVIE:

The first book in Stephenie Meyer's Twilight series, Twilight, is now being made into a movie. The movie is set for release on December 12 this year. I have to say, it looks interesting, even though I myself currently have no interest in the books. Two of the stars in the movie are Kristen Stewart (Bella) and Robert Pattinson (Edward); Akaik has posted many other actors and their characters on W&W. I know my sister's going to want to watch this movie over and over again.^_^

CAT OF THE WEEK:

The Somali is a long-haired Abyssinian cat. Somalis are: active, intelligent, playful, and curious. The breed first appeard in a Abyssinian litter in the 1950s when a number of Abyssinian kittens were born with long furry tails and fluffy coats. Unlike most long-haired cats, Somalis shed very little hair. Somalis are have a striking bushy tail and a rusty colored pelt. For this people gave this cat the nickname ‘Fox Cat’. In addition to the fluffy tail, the Somali breed features a black stripe down its back(and no, this is not Graystripe), large ears, a full ruff and breeches, contributing further to the overall "foxy" look. The Somali’s pelt is ticked with tabby markings and come in varieties of colors, but The usual pelt comination is a Ruddy Somali that is golden brown ticked with black.

RECIPIE OF THE WEEK:

FUNNY FACE PUDDING THINGS!! XD

Ingredients

1 package (4 serving size) instant pudding (any flavour)
Whatever else you need to make the pudding with
Random decoration thingys such as fruit, chocolate chips, nuts, mini marshmallows, candies, etc.

Instructions

1. Follow the instructins on the package and make the pudding (pretty straightforward).
2. Pour the pudding into four dessert dishes. Let pudding stand for about five minutes.
3. Make funny faces on the pudding using the candy thingymabobbers!
4. Eat right away or chill until you're hungry.XP

Variation: Use Jell-o instead of pudding.
