Erin Hunter chat - August 16, 2008

We're pleased to announce some exciting news! On August 16, 2008, we'll be joined by not one, not two, not three, but...FOUR Erin Hunters! That's right: the four amazing writers behind the Warriors and Seekers books - Vicky Holmes, Kate Cary, Cherith Baldry, and, for the first time, Tui Sutherland - will be joining us for an author chat. Tui Sutherland is the newest "Erin" and is the writer of Warriors Field Guide: Secrets of the Clans and Seekers: The Quest Begins

There are so many Erin Hunter fans now, that we're going to have to do a couple of things differently to try to reduce the chaos. The last chat got a little crazy - there were thousands of questions submitted, and there was no way to get through even a small portion of them. Please read the following:

Last time, we were swamped with new people joining Wands and Worlds right before the chat just to come to the chat. A few of those stayed and became active members, but most never came back after the chat. Also, I really need to know approximately how many people will be coming, so that I can make sure that the chat room has sufficient capacity. This time, I'm going to cut off new Wands and Worlds registrations a week before the chat. No new members will be allowed to join between August 10 and August 16. If you know someone who wants to join for the chat, please make sure that they join no later than August 9.
We're going to allow people to submit questions in advance. DON'T SUBMIT YOUR QUESTIONS YET! We'll let you know when. If you submit your questions now, they'll be erased before we start accepting submissions. The way it will work is that everyone will be allowed to submit two questions in advance. We will select one of those questions to be in the first batch of questions to be sent to Erin Hunter. The goal is to try to get at least one question answered from as many people as possible, because some people felt left out that they didn't get any questions answered. We reserve the right to not select either of your questions, at our discretion, if the questions are duplicates or unclear or too personal or for any other reason. (If we don't select either of your questions, we'll let you know). After the first group of questions has been answered, we'll allow people to submit additional questions in the normal way. We'll post and let you know when you can submit your questions!

The chat will be held in the author chat room on August 16, 2008 at the following times:

England: Midnight (Saturday night/Sunday morning)
Eastern U.S.: 7:00 pm
Central U.S.: 6:00 pm
Mountain U.S.: 5:00 pm
Pacific U.S.: 4:00 pm
ARIZONA: 4:00 pm

Be there, but probably just as a lurker. I may pay for some accounts for some friends, though, as I'm sure they'd like to ask some questions about recent things. I really don't feel like there's anything else I want to know. -Shrug-

Also, I think it's a good idea to cut off registration, and taking questions early. DEFINITELY a good idea to cut back on epic chaos.
